kitchen update

I added woodwork to the top of my cabinets which were dust collectors. I cut the center post out of the cabinets and replaced the doors with good size full extension drawers. I put file drawers in the desk area, both sides. All the added drawers are one of my most beneficial projects. Thanks for looking.

You’re going to love having drawers instead of doors on your lower cabinets. It does change the way you organize things (mine are organized by size of the items stored rather than function), but not having to bend down and having full access to the stuff in the back really changes things. Nice work, by the way!

Looks very nice. I agree with the drawes vs door thing and am looking into doing that in our kitchen.
I don’t think my wife would agree with adding the soffit. Although yours looks nice, she loves to display her baskets, plants, flowers, bottles etc no matter how much dust they collect.

I understand with the soffit debate. We discussed that too. The soffit by the stove was feeling greasy…I think the clincher was having a recessed panel look. The old look is just drywall and usually the only reason (I believe) that there is a soffit is because they are not custom cabinets.

Very nice work. I like the added drawers. I am just finishing up making my kitchen cabinets and hopefully will be installing them soon. I don’t have all drawers, but where I have doors, I put in slide out shelves. Thanks for sharing, really nice looking.
