This bowl is camphor turned sidegrain w/natural edge. If you have not yet turned camphor wood it smells great when you put the gouge to it.
1. turned green down to 3/4” thick
2. ca glued the bark rim
3. let dry in paper bag
4. re-turned to 5/8” thick
5. sanded and applied semi gloss lacquer

Interesting piece. I had never heard of this tree until I just looked it up. I like woods that have a nice smell to them.

Beautiful bowl. You can turn you photo image right side up in the photo editing program that is part of your photo gallery (if you want to).

The bowl is 5 1/2 inches tall and 9” wide at the top.
