Prototype of a box I am developing to sell on my etsy page @ http://www.etsy.com/people/ivamir.

The box is used to protect artist pastels as they break easily. The case is designed to be used on the desk or for transport. I have another one for 30 pastels in the works.

With the magnetic close the box has a pleasant click.

Cherry wood, with soss barrel hinges and lee valley magnetic cup and washer set 1/4inch.

After cutting on the machine there was some sanding to do. I went to 320 then finished with mineral oil and chapmans wax.

Last shot is of the tool path – much more work that I thought is was going to be.

That’s a wonderful design. You should do well with it.

This kicks @ss. A great use of the tool.

This is awesome! I think you have a serious winner here. In fact, in fact I have a few artists in my family that I may purchase this from you for bdays…(wouldn’t be right to steal your design and build it myself. It would be cool if you offered personalization on the lid.

I like the way your brain is working!

Nice design.
I haven’t seen this style of box, and I have been looking for CNC boxes for many years.

Good job, it looks great.

Cool storage for pastels, great gift for budding artists. Like the design and it’s really well made. Great job!

It’s beautiful! If I may… This beautiful box could be sold as an upscale cigar box for those that only want the best.
