I saw so many of these on here after joining LJs i could not resist trying a few. The first one is cherry, walnut, soft maple, jatoba and hard maple and was my own design. It was finished with mineral oil. The other two are hard maple and purple heart and were finished with watco butcher block. I got that idea from so many seen here (originally from the wood whisperer I guess). If I make more cutting boards I think I’ll go with the butcher block finish.

Nice boards! Do you mind describing how you routed the finger grips in the ends?

Thanks for the comments Robert and Tyler. I had the board vertically in my vise and I used my router with a round nose bit and the routers fence. It definitely takes a steady hand but wasn’t too difficult.
