This is a Christmas gift I made for my mom-in-law. I made it from some drawer sides I found on the street. Very simple construction with mitered corners. I used a rounding over bit on the corners, letting the shoulders of the bit bite in to give the piece an art deco look. Because tissue boxes come in several sizes (heights) I made the box to the size of the largest and made it adjustable for the smaller sizes. I drilled stopped holes at the appropriate hieght in the long sides, making the holes just big enough to fit golf tees. (3rd photo) I even made a storage place in the box to hold the tees (2nd photo). It was finished with some maple stain and polyurethane.

We have my brother in law to thank for the golf tee idea. I was stuck for a while on this one.

Dave, nice design. I especially like the idea of using golf tees as an adjustment. Good call.

@Dave R – Yeah, you’re her fave but how many daughters does she have? ;)

I really like the idea for the different sizes of tissue boxes. Kudos to you and your BIL.
