I wondered what i could build with nothing fancier that a simple piecie of 1×12 home depot piece of pine. I then took it one step further and used only a hand scroll saw and a jitterbug sander. (ok, a block sander and a file) and here is what i came up with… i wanted to make what i would think a turn-of-the-century cigarette machine would look like. pull the handle and taaadaaaa a pack of smokes jumps out to you. ( ok a little bit non p.c. in today’s world but hey, some of us still smoke) thanks for taking a look! check out pt. 2 for further uses of a 1×12 pine project….

regardless of whether or not someone smokes, this is still a great piece and a great challenge to yourself and others. Nice job, wrong brand ;)

Non-smoker here (and non-judgmental also)
Looks like you have enough room for about 3 cartons, so I’m guessing you either have a hellofa habit, or there’s more than one smoker in your house.
Creative idea. Nice job on the cig machine

Piece looks great. The idea could easily be used for dispensing other items as well.

I only comment on this because I like your mention about political correctness in today’s world…...something that is way overblown. I guess if I was politically correct I would not comment on this project or try to say something nice about it. But dude, do you really want cigs displayed in your kitchen? Come on! That will add some value to your house. A convenient rack located inside a cabinet door much like a spice rack seems better and would serve the same purpose.
I’m fat but I don’t display Big Mac containers on my wall.
