Another great turning. I wonder how many pieces of turnings don’t make the postings. For those of us that would like to learn this, can you post pics of things to watch out for? Or are there blogs that already have this kind of instruction?

Gorgeous color variations in that box elder and the figure on the inside is awesome…..how long do you think it took to create this one ?

That’s some great turning! I always like looking at your projects, and the wood you choose. Great post!!

Thanks for all the kind remarks. I really appreciate them all.

Bradford, that is a good idea about posting some not so good pieces and highlight the flaws as a learning tool. I will consider it.

Dusty56, I would estimate that I spent 2 – 2 1/2 hours turning, 20-30 minutes sanding, and 15-20 minutes finishing.

Trifern,

This is another beautiful bowl. I love the grain pattern and the finish.

Well done.

Another great piece! Where does all your wood come from? You’ve defintely got an eye for the wood!

By the way – if you do opt to post some of your “practice” bowls for discussion sake, I’d suggest you do it as a blog, so you don’t muck up your gorgeous display of “finished” pieces.
