I made this all cedar birdfeeder after the squirrels chewed up the plastic one I had on my deck. The top removes completely to fill it. I have a “diverter” at the bottom to spread the seed to the outside. The short view window on each side allows me to see when I’m low on seed. I have the view windows so that they slide up/down in a routed groove in the sides. That allows me to lower or raise it slightly for when I put sunflower seeds vs mixed bird seed in, which flows differently. It can either sit on a post or deck rail, or I can hang it if wanted by adding a short piece of wire or chain.
