This First ring is one that I have been wanting to do for a while, I really love the carved boxes that Greg the box maker makes but do not have the talent nor skill to pull a box of that quality off! So I thought about a carved ring. So here is a carved ring made of Walnut and Ceder! 2 of my favorite woods!
The next ring is made up of five pieces of wood! Walnut, Ceder and Poplar with a small dot of brass in it!
It is heavily tapered and the walnut is only on the outside widest part of the ring. The popular looks more yellow In the photos than in person.

Hope you enjoy, thanks Robert.

The carved one caught my eye, but that dot of brass in the second ring made me say “Wow”. That really sets off the wood.

WOW! Nice job. I had a little time to kill the other day, so I tried to whip up a quick ring from a scrap of birch. Lesson 1- this is not a ten minute job. Lesson 2- It’s going to take me more than a few attempts to get this right. Lesson 3- I stink at making rings! Fantastic job you have done, my wife really likes it. Thanks for posting it.

I would say you found a Great talent inside you….don’t really have to worry about that box building…just carve one with your own hands.
