Father’s Day present for my dad (a fellow woodworker). Made from Gord's plans out of 3/4 MDF. I used wood glue and water (1:2 mix) as a sealer and two coats of Johnson’s paste wax as a finish. Had to have the bar (alluminum) milled since my dad has a contractor saw with a unusual slot. I also gave him a 3/8” x 3/4” bar for when he gets his real saw. I will have to keep a eye on it and report back to see how the wood glue water mix does to keep the MDF strong and stable.

Hi Jimmy,
This is a very nice gift for your dad. I am sure that he will appreciate it.
Thanks for sharing both the project and the story behind it.

Home made tools are the best, cause you know that you made them every time you see them.

Nicely done and while you’re at it you should make a few more, you know, for special situations. Nice job.
always,
