I’ve been wanting to get some more small but intricate things made, but i have no ability to veneer other than sticking two boards across and clamping. Which has mixed results.

Vacuum presses start at a few hundred, and book makers nipping presses arn’t much less.

This whole thing cost me £19, and that was for the shoulder vice screw. Everything else is scrap or offcut material.

It has a bed of 400mm x 300mm and a day light of up to 130mm, so it’s not a big piece by any stretch of the imagination. But it should hopefully do all i need for now, and save me a lot of money.
