I’m nearly done with this table and will upload more photos when it’s complete.
The table is built with air-dried black walnut using as many boards with bark inclusions and crotch compression grain as I could locate.
Joinery is all mortise and tenon. Mortises were made using a router with edge guide.
Tenons were cut on the Table saw.
I haven’t attached the top yet; still need to mortise the slots for the buttons which I’ll use.
The table doesn’t have a finish yet.
The blue tape has my marks for assembly—after carefully selecting boards for figure, the last thing I wanted to do was assemble it wrong and hide something.

Thanks y’all. The table is sort of on hold for a while.
I’m building a crib for my wife’s best friend’s daughter.
If I get spare time in between crib work, I’ll get back to the walnut table.
