A gift for an artist friend. The backboard is 9” X 22” X 1/2” yellowheart. The letters are 1/8” baltic birch plywood. The yellow heart was sprayed with pre-catalyzed lacquer sanding sealer followed by three coats of pre-catalyzed lacquer. The letters were painted with Krylon 2X spray then attached with epoxy. I chose West Systems epoxy because it is less viscous. That made it easier to brush a thin coat on the back of the letters and prevented squeeze out. The original font was from a bumper sticker. I had it enlarged to create the patterns for the letters then rearranged them. I designed the corner pieces and used them in lieu of a frame around the sign.

That is stunning it really stands out
It makes a change from concave lettering (if that is the right term)?
Are the letters nailed or glued?
What is the text called?

Great sign, where did you get the font? It’s awesome.

That font looks very much like ‘adresack’ with the only exception being the capital A looks different. The rest of the letters look very much the same.
-- Mistake? No, that's just an unexpected design opportunity....
Have your say...
