First grandchild arrived this year and I borrowed the plans from Woodsmith for an entry bench to deepen the box and include safety hinges on the lid. Built from Cherry and gel stained with a finish called Candelight. I wish I had the creativity the may LJ members show in their projects but being an engineer I seem to work better with a design than creating a design.

I think that you did a really nice job on this. Welcome to lumberjocks.

Excellent work and really beautiful too. Creativity can express itself in many different ways, not just design.

A very outstanding piece! I like the idea of “tool box-bench” . Very functional.

I concur with all the above comments. You did a great job building this, the color is very handsome (like dark cherry) The bench/ chest is a good idea regardless of where it came from. Simple, elegant and restrained with a solid reassuring look.
