I cannot take an ounce of credit for this design. I was looking through Etsy for ideas, came across a guy who makes an assortment of oak organizers (Less and More is his Etsy store). I really liked it, and adapted it for my desk.
I put my cell phone, business cards, current folder I’m working on, paperclips, pens and pencils, and my iPad propped so I can work on my computer and iPad. Ipad not in photo since I took the photos with it. I left it still very raw and rough because I want it to look like a work in progress, sort of like, sitting at my desk, working on things. Reminds me to work until the job is done.
Again, thanks to the etsy guy for the great ideas.
I think, am pretty sure it is walnut, but the ends were spotting, which is either from not sanding completely, which is what I did intentionally, but not sure why it looks like spots. Possibly from the beeswax mineral oil not being able to penetrate because of the spotty sanding.

Etsy is like woodworkers dream of ideas. There are so many creative people on Etsy, I get ideas and make them myself. A lot of people put there stuff on Etsy, and very few can make a living doing it. Just too many sellers making the same kind of stuff. But they have everything you can think of. I got a lot of great ideas from there that have made me money also at shows and my featured booth at a local store. It’s sort of the nature of the beast with the internet. If you put it out there, people like me are knowledgable enough and creative enough to make it and modify it.

I like the idea of this
-- Mother Nature created it, I just assemble it. - It's not ability that we often lack, but the patience to use our ability

A lovely multi purpose holder, a great add on to a desk top.
