Round bottom plane

I attended a two day class in David Flemming's shop in Scottsdale, AZ where we made a round bottom hand plane. I learned a ton and David is a awesome teacher and coach.

These pictures were taken the end of the the two days before I shaped the tongue and before I added an oil finish.

I didn’t particularly want to build a round bottom plane…my good friend had already made one with a flat bottom so he wanted to make one with a round bottom. I was game either way since I was learning the process. Now I have a round bottom plan to go with my 4 flat bottom ones!

Maybe a better question is what do you do with a round bottom plane?
