Yeah it is an acquired taste maybe you have to have some German in you before like it….it is loaded with healthy bacteria and good stuff like that yummy….and it smell so good when its fermenting or called working, as kid every fall the neighborhood would gather to make it, and all the houses in my hood smelled of sour kraut

Good one Jeffrey. If the sauerkraut fails you will at least have a good mallet! I miss sauerkraut. Didn’t have any for many years as they didn’t sell it here in Norway. Now they have it here, a German brand, but it’s a bit on the mild side. There are some good recipes for it on the net. I’ve thought about making it, but haven’t got around to it yet as my wife isn’t particularly fond of it. My grandmother who came from German immigrants used to make it on the farm. She made some real good beer too!

Thanks Pete, I like how they used there fist instead of charles for the “stomping” of the kraut, did I ever tell you Pete how much I like to stomp….especially with charles…
no one even said a word about the name…He is on FOX News every night…I know I am not all there
