My sister came across some simple plans for this online and asked me to make it. It was fairly easy, but really fun to build. I used a Kreg Jig very often in the build, it was very handy to have. The hardest part was trying to find 2×2s that were straight from Lowes. I am thinking that maybe it would have been better to rip 2×4s but it ended up working out. Still needs Polyurethane and some light sanding.

What I’ve found with the local hardware stores is that it’s much easier to find good wood at the contractor stores (e.g. Home Depot Pro). Especially the difference in quality of the pine boards was just night and day—you could pick through the entire selection at the “normal” store and not find a single straight board, or go to the contractor store and almost all of them would be usable. Weird.

It’s a nice table! Great work. :)

Nice look. I like 2×4 type furniture.

That’s where it came from. My sister sent me the link and asked me to make it for her.

Brilliant! It looks so awesome.Every living room needs a good coffee table.Rustic coffee tables are the perfect accent for any western style living room. Rustic coffee tables are available in various shapes but the most commonly seen shapes are round, oval, square and rectangular.
