This is the second set of millinery tools I have made. I was approached by a hatter that needed some tools made and sent me some pictures from an early 1900’s book and description of what they did. While researching the tools deeper I found that foot tollikers were all right handed. A lefty would have trouble using it or they would need to get find a left handed version. I decided to redesign it so that it would be comfortable and functional for either hand.
Once I had the design the done, I made him prototypes from scrap wood to get the shape and feel right.
Once he was happy with it, he asked me to make them in red oak. He was thrilled with them so I made a third set to sell.

Good looking project. Nice to make it ambidextrous.
