Zebrawood and Maple

Second attempt to post this :( Soft maple and zebrawood. Dimensions: 12 1/2×8 1/2×5”. Joinery was half laps and pinned half laps for the panels and splined miters for the corners. The panels are trapped by dados rather than being rabbitted like my previous panel boxes. Pins and all miter keys are zebrawood. Finished with Deft semi-gloss rattle can lacquer (still getting that fine orange peel). Wooden hinges ala Patron/Grizzman’s design. A fun build.Edit: I forgot to call attention to the amazing grain of the quartersawn maple on the lid and front frame. I loved it.

That is one mighty FINE box.

Andy, you’re gonna need to build one gianormous box to contain all your great boxes. Of course, your house COULD be considered a gianormous box!!!
