This was a fun little project. Curly Makore and cherry.

A place for me to dump keys, wallet, cell phone, cuff links, watches, etc at the end of the day, so I’m not searching all over the house for them.

This is the first project I’ve built without drawing it all out in advance, like a thought puzzle!

Comments/suggestions welcome!

Very nice! I like everything about this: wood choice, dovetails, design…

Great work.

Thanks all…

Honestly, the hardest part of this for me was turning the knobs… Getting one perfect shaker style knob that’s less than 3/4” in diameter was hard enough, never mind turning two perfect knobs that match!

What size is it?

Jamie, size is roughly 14”x10”x4 1/2”.

And yes, very useful to have! I’ll probably make another one. I mistakenly cut the first dovetails aligned with the wrong edge of the drawer front. To fix it, I had to flip them upside down and make the left the right. the little cherry strip ended up on the bottom and the single board for the front ended up mismatched. If you don’t know, it looks fine, but of course I DO know, and… Well, you’re woodworkers, so you understand!

Unique and, as Jim says, very useful.
Me like it!

Ryno, congratulations on a well earned “Top 3.” This is a great design, and a very useful and attractive build. What I like best is the variety and types of spaces available. You have easy access to the hidden space under the top. Open space for drop-in items and drawers for longer term storage…in short it has everything in a small footprint. The post and beam construction uses material sparingly and well. This men’s valet or In-And-Out Box does everything and has everything. Thanks for sharing it with us. Keep boxing and keep posting.

VERY classy dresser valet of some beautiful woods. Your joinery is big time impressive.
