My son's sword

After I made my first project, my son asked if I could make a sword, and said sure!

I laminated two pieces of scrap wood I had left over and sketched out the shape, cut it out with my jig saw then routed the edges to shape the “blade” and handle.

My son wanted to help so I let him sand it down which he got a kick out of.

Love this post, as a huge fan of bladed weapons, as well as a father, it is great to see your son helping out and making his own wooden sword. I plan to make one for my daughter when she gets a little older, as pretty much anything long and skinny she can find 2 of become swords to her and I have to duel her. :)

Nice, I really enjoy the days I can get my son involved in projects. If I had started earlier, maybe it wouldnt be such a challenge now…lol
