This intarsia project is made out of Oregon white oak, black walnut, aspen and chinquapin. I dug this piece of oak out of the firewood pile after work one day and let it air dry for a year before I decided what I wanted to do with it. I routed out the knot and made the raccoon head fit to it to give a 3D effect.
