The burn lines are from applying friction wire in the grooves wood burnishing on rings… wood on wood feel the heat don’t get hurt where there is smoke there is fire…..and that reminds me….
Never put waded up oily rags or paper into a trash can it will combust and that will not be a good thing when it happens from linseed oil, tung oil, salad bowl, and many oils will happen always place the rag/towel flat to dry…or in a OCEA approved metal container…
