I had a couple of extra fence pickets I wanted to use and made this guy. After painting, I beat the crap out of it with various tools and sanded some of it off to give it a stressed look. A great simple and quick project for gifts to friends and family.

I like it! I love flags and never thought of making one from wood.

Neat flag…. “Americana” stuff is popular all over the country. Here’s something I made last year. I used 3/4” thick solid oak flooring.

Then I stripped out some 10ga electrical wire and braided it for a hanger

Are you guys using some sort of stencil for the star? I LOVE Americana / Texas theme stuff… Would love to build a Texas flag patio cooler as a gift for a brother in law that is helping me out hugely with my truck…
