This project was completed before joining LJs, but wanted to put it out there. These are large marbles and the case is about 13” tall. It is red oak and the glass is typical picture glass. The glass slides into saw kerfts. The project was as much an experiment as anything since I didn’t know for sure if the idea of placing each marble into a dimple would actually work. As you can see, it did work. The dimples are 3/8” twist drill starts. Before placing the front glass into the stand, the marbles are placed in each level one for each dimple. When the stand is placed upright each marble finds it’s own dimple almost with no coaxing! Ths was fun stuff so thought I’d share it. Thanks for looking…...........;-J

Nice. My in-laws are wanting a similar rack for displaying gold balls. I’ll be looking at your design.

My grandma has collected a ton of antique marbles from cotton fields in the south over the years. This would be perfect for her. They’re just sitting in a jar in a drawer right now. Great idea.
