This is a new Cherry fireplace mantle I built for our home. It is made entirely of solid Cherry. The top is 2 1/4” thick and the rest is around 7/8” thick. All made from rough stock lumber planed, profiled and sanded. I finished it with three layers of General Finishes’ polyacrylic semi gloss finish and two layers of staples paste wax.
As usual, the pictures don’t capture the beauty of the wood or the finish, but it is gorgeous!
Special shoutout to the guys at Bagdad Lumber in Bagdad, Kentucky for the awesome slab of Cherry!
