Dining room table

This is a table that I built my Junior year in high school. It was a fun project, but of course it had its share of problems. The main problem that I had was that the table top keep cracking on me. I did finally end up getting it to stay put after gluing it three times. So I did end up with a few gaps which I had to fill. I really enjoyed doing this project, it was a lot of fun to figure out how to do some of the processes. During the building of my table I did end up changing my mind on how I wanted to cut the legs, I was originally going to have both sides curve into the center. But just before I cut the other side I decided to try something different, and I have to say that I am very happy I changed my mind. I also really love the look of the Maple and the walnut together it is a very great combo of woods.

Snig – welcome to LJ.com. Very nice table! I like what you did with the legs…very unique.

Learning woodworking processes is very satisfying and can be very rewarding. Keep up the good work. I’m sure we’re going to see some great projects from you.

Thanks for sharing this.
