The lid is roasted maple, the sides and the insert are made from repurposed hardwood flooring. The carton said the wood was Southern Hickory, and in small letters after it it says Cumaru. Perhaps some of you have seen this before, I am not sure if they were referring to the finish or if they actually call Cumaru a Hickory. It also known as Brazilian Teak. The box is 4” by 6” barrel hinges, Maple splines. 3 coats of Tung Oil.

Cumaru is a very hard wood and it is known as Brazilian Teak.
