I started this vase about two weeks ago. I wanted to see just how big I could turn it on the old Delta Lathe. I used a little bit of everything I had in the shop to include Cocobolo , Bocote, Oak, Birch, Hickory and a couple I’m not sure what they were. It ended up 29 inches tall and about 11 1/2 inches through. I stained with a Golden Oak finish.

Very nice! It looks substantial. No doubt about it, that took a lot of time.
I’m still surprised you were able to turn it on that lathe. Wish you had posted more pictures. Send me a couple when you get the chance.

Love big and tall vases like this. The wood combinations made a very beautiful pattern. Great turning!
