This is a 7 foot tall builtin I made for a friend and helped install it in his house. There are three compartments below the flip up hinge lid and four coat areas. Three separete basket racks up above just like he wanted. The photos show a reverse progress from the final product, (Which I made him stain and finish atleast, so he had SOME ownership in it!) To the original cut parts.

This is pretty much exactly what my wife wants me to build for our mudroom. I will probably used plywood instead of oak because she is insisting that we paint it white. Thanks for inspiration! Great looking builtins!

The walls are oak plywood so using MDF or smooth birch plywood would work. To paint, instead of oak trim I would use poplar… preprimed poplar is fantastic stuff. Makies it nice and easy. Good luck. It can be fun.
