WHICH BOOK IS THE BOX?

This project is just for fun. When I found this plywood palette ( pic #5 ), the idea of book box came to my head, for the coloure and thin layers in it. I started working on it without any plan, each step had developed while I was making the box. As you know, I’m a woodturner not a BOXOLOGIST, like Martyn, but I like the idea of making a box looks like a book and using the side end of the plywood to look like paper. I give myself one, probably, one and a half stars but I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.

Neat idea. I’ve got a daughter who is a big book nut who would like something like this. I might have to try one in a few months.

Awesome! I like when an idea just pops in and I’m able to build it. Well done.

Get a dust jacket from a second hand book store, line it with fabric, and use it to conceal the hinges. Bandsaw a phone book to yield real edge paper and glue it on.

Pretty cool, I’d say. Nice job.
I like Hunter71’s idea, too.
