This was my first woodworking project and to say that it was a learning experience would be a gross understatement. We recently bought our first home (and adopted our first dog) and realized that our Brooklyn-apartment-sized furniture looked pretty tiny in our new place. The table and benches are made of construction grade lumber with screws and glue. The finish is minwax “Early American” with 3 layers of satin poly. The wife has since made foam cushions that run the length of each bench. The old dinner table, seen in the third photo, is now on our back porch for outdoor meals in warmer weather. Thanks for looking at my very amateurish first project!

Hey, that’s a really nice build, first project or not. Actually, I’d say that it’s more professional than “amateurish”, doesn’t look like there could be any improvements made. Enjoy it, looks like the dog likes it too.
