Wooden items have always been close to my heart but everything wooden in my house was shop made.
Few months back I had tried my hand on pasting laminates on 16mm plywood to create background boards for my brass naval clocks and a prayer altar made of similar board with glass shelves. These things came out very nice and gave me confidence for more.
Because of zero experience on actual woodworking, I took my time to read tip and techniques given here on LJ and some similar woodworking sites.
Once confident and with a project on my mind, I embarked on my first ever wood project made out of pallet wooden boards. I have no idea which wood I have used and believe it or not, actually bought TOOLS as I went along with my project.
The last picture is of few TOOLS that I ended up buying for this project.
An “ANANT” planer.
“G” clamps (I always had them)
10 mm drill machine
Standard hammers
Meter scale
and few assorted items.
I directly used 3 coats of clear synthetic varnish over the wood as I could not find/explore more options for getting the professional polished look.
I intend to use it as open SHOE RACK.
Please do visit me on www.ariesonu.tumblr.com for more pictures of my maiden project.
Thanks,
Sonu

pretty nice, I love using Pallet wood for most of my projects. you can try things without worrying about loosing money if you mess up a cut.
