This is a little table I made for me and my girlfriend to use with our laptops. We watch a lot of netflix at bedtime and always battle about who the laptop sits on. So I made this out of some reclaimed poplar and used the nail holes to accent the piece. I like the result and it should get good use through the long winter months up here. I applied 5 coats of tung oil and am pleased. Oh and mainly for practice I inlayed the apple logo. Sorry about the bad pictures. Thanks

Very nice. I like the way you highlighted the old nail holes as accents. I think Apple might want you to make a couple of hundred thousand more to put in their Apple Stores. I might buy one (or just steal you idea and make one myself). Good job, Kenny!

Fantastic table, and what a neat idea for the inlay! I’m not an Apple fanboy, but with that table I could easily become one. Next, maybe build iPad tables with integrated, adjustable stands so each of you can watch different movies ;)

Just don’t try to mass produce them and sell them , The Apple copyright Police would be on you in a heartbeat.

For doing inlay I use the inlay router base from ste-mac with the bits they sell and I cut the shape on my scroll say. I Cut first then trace the pattern onto the wood to be inlayed. Then its all free hand routing with the dremel. Next upgrade I would like to buy is the foredom flex shaft for routing. Much nicer tool then cheapo dremels. Thanks everyone for all the nice things said. Good to get feedback sometimes.

Wow, that’s all greek to me, aside from ‘router’ and ‘dremel’. Either way, thanks for the info and again, very nice result!
