I’ve been traveling again and so not much has come out of the wood shop, but here’s an interesting solution to a problem I recently had. I still need to park my car in the garage but with no more wall space available, I had no place to store my kayaks in there too. So here ya go, 4 – 1/2 inch threaded rods and 50 bucks worth of lumber later, a hanging shelf. The car fits nicely under with 8 inches to spare and there’s plenty of room on the shelf for paddles and fishing poles.

I’d been considering something like this for storring excess wood. Nice execution.

This is a nice storage system for your kayaks. It does add some needed space to the garage.
Well done.

A fine solution. I can relate – I made a canoe last year and had to build some brackets to get it up out of the way of the cars. Sometimes I kick myself for not building a 3 car garage….

Good idea, I’ve got a 17’ explorer hanging from my rafters. At least it does’nt take up floor space. mike
