I saw an earlier post of some great tap handles, so thought I’d try to make some for my buddy who makes great beer and shares it with me. Figured it was the least I could do as an exchange. The handles are cherry. The tops, which can be mixed and matched to the beer are poplar, southern pine, cherry, claro walnut, bloodwood, and imitation wenge.

Awesome tap handles, like the choices of wood with different colors and finish. One lucky buddy…

Nice-looking handles. What kind of threaded inserts did you use on the bottoms?

grfrazee – the threaded inserts are 3/8 threads, same as the taps. OD is 1/2 inch. Being hardwood and a not-very-thick wall, I bored the wood out to 9/16 and added some superglue to make sure they stayed in place. Bought the inserts at Woodcraft.

Buddies who brew are great buddies to have!

Nice job, I hope you get to operate them often!

Have your say...
