A couple projects I have been working on the big square bowl is made from Maple, Mahogany, Walnut and Oak. The small candle bowls which I made several of are made of Oak and Mahogany. I have a 9” “square” bowl in the lathe right now that I got the outside done on last night and glued to the waste block…..Hopefully have time to finish it tonight!!!! I will keep you posted.

I am unclear as to why the large bowl is called a square bowl. the picture is hard to see, but it looks like a constructed bowl to me. the wood designs/color/patterns looks pretty interesting, and the shape is very nice. Work a bit on your picture taking, so we can see your nice bowl better.

It is my understanding that placing the wood of different species into a square like this made it a “square” bowl. I do understand that the finished shape is not a square.
Have your say...
