A co-worker hired me to build a corner entertainment center for his cabin. Made out of “rustic” hard maple and maple plywood. Cedar log columns for the very front.
I utilized a lot of pocket hole joinery for the frame of the project, and then the inside plywood. That really sped things up vs mortise and tennon. And the strength is great as well. This was my first project that had 6 legs, and first project that had slightly more “complex” anglework due to the 45 and 22.5 degree angles necessary for the angeled look. It was also a first time trying any inlay work. The diamonds on the front of the doors are walnut, inlayed in the door.
It’s coated with 3 coats of brush on lacquer.
