She said we needed a new playhouse for the kitties. Left-over heartwood pieces from the harvested backyard ash tree were glued together for the sides but the top is one strong piece, with the sky-light in the center. The nine ladder rungs are one inch diameter rods. One coat of water-based poly all over and then a second coat on the top. The kitties love their playhouse, we call it a step stool.

I need to build a version of this for my girlfriends kitties! I think I could put a couple of steps inside and modify one end, then it could be used to reach even higher.
Thanks for the inspiration!
I think useful things made of local wood seem to acquire value as family heritage. I would sign it, add the date, purpose and source of the wood inside for future generations.

Now that’s clever! Thanks, it’s on my favorites list now!

This is just awesome!
