just a few shop projects i’ve been working on lately.
1)cross cut sled built it with scrap wood based off plans seen on lj’s and the one steve marin built.turned out pretty decent and have been making plans to build a larger one with t-tracks and stop block.
2)mobile base for scroll saw.used 4”casters and scrap wood on this.its nice to have it mobile to move around, now i need to build a planer stand,mb for my sander,mb for my router table and a mb for my bandsaw.i’m working on adding shelves to put junk err store stuff i mean.
3)down draft sanding box.i screwed up the cut on my top piece and cut it about a half inch short and i put a little chaulk on the inside of the dust port cause there’s a little lip and i didn’t want dust collecting there.i added rubber feet on the bottom to help with vibrations a trick i seen posted on a box here on lj’s.i’m gonna make a handle on the side to help carry it and to hang it on the wall.don’t look to close at it cause you’ll find a bunch of mistakes,i got in to big of a hurry i guess.
thanks for looking and any critism or ideas on changes would be appreciated.thanks,marty.

Gonna build a stand for your planer, huh? Well, here you go.

In the next day or so I will be adding a couple of ledger boards to the bottom and line it with reclaimed pallet boards to make a shelf to store the parts for the sander and the planer dust collection shroud.
Good luck with your projects.

Nicely done. I like the rails on the top of your cross cut sled. I made one a few days ago and have been meaning to add something like that to it.
Love the sanding box. That’s going on the short list.
I could spend my life making tools for my tools and be a happy monkey.
Have your say...
