Recently finished up a sconce for my home using a few different types of reclaimed wood stained the same; letting the natural wood grain differences create a subtle tone variation. Just build a frame out of reclaimed white pine and applied Minwax Classic Grey and once dry, sanding it down in spots also to create a bit more tone variation. Construction light all pretty basic. A nice alternative to the overhead can lighting built into newer home construction.
More detail at my blog. Hope you enjoy.

Neat idea for a sconce. Don’t think I have ever saw one like it.
