Christmas projects I made for my dad and father in law. The pictures are of what I gave my dad but they are the same as what i made for my father in law. (Of course the flaws are unique for each of them)

The toolbox is made of pine with an oak inlay on the side and accents. Each of the toolboxes is customized with their initials. This was my first attempt at box joints on a project. I used my scroll saw to cut the box joints and am pretty pleased with the results. Finish on the toolbox is BLO and Shellac.

The mallet is made of mahogany and maple. I made it based on plans from Steve Ramsey of Woodworking for Mere Mortals. I roughly shaped the handle out on my scroll saw and then sanded it down on my oscillating spindle sander to final shape. I used pennies as the extra weight in the head of the mallet but wish i would have stuck with fishing weights as the pennies don’t add too much weight. The mallet was also finished with BLO and Shellac.

The little truck is something i just made last minute out of a piece of 2×4 i had laying around. It is finished with Shellac.

I like your projects very well!

Nice work.

A part of the joy of woodworking is doing what other people do not do!

I know you will soon make most of your own patters!
