I built one of these for myself (see my other projects or blog) and my niece fell in love with it. She wanted one just like it, almost. I made this one with a walnut neck left over from a few coffee tables that I built. The fretboard is quartersawn sycamore though there are no frets as the guitar is meant to be played with a glass or metal slide. My niece wanted all “gold” metal accessories so I found gold tuners and knobs and brass soundhole covers.
The gift was presented with a nifty clip-on tuner and an assortment of picks. It was a big hit with her and I again had fun building it. I cannot stress enough what a fun little project these are. My next one will have frets like a traditional guitar and may be a four-string version.
I hope you enjoy seeing this as much as I did building it.
Thanks for looking,
Tim

This so cool in so many ways. Love the brass screw on the neck. The cigar box is awesome. The speaker screen are cool. Would have been cool to find gold colored one but they look really nice. Great work and great project…

You did a nice job with that Tim. I agree the brass screw is cool. I just wish guitar builders, cigar box guitar builders would post a video of it being used. I’d love to hear it. Thanks for posting.

Dan,
I am working on learning to play. I will try to upload a video in the near future. The guys at the local guitar shop could play some blues-type music on it with little effort.
Thanks,
Tim
