I made this table out of 4/4 rough sawn Oak planks that have been sitting in my dad’s garage for the past few winters. The wood came from a family friend that had an old oak tree fall on his property and he had the know how to get it sawn into boards. After a few trips through the planer I was able to to get everything to the right thickness. For the legs I went the easy route and just laminated 3 boards together and then planed them down to the correct dimensions. All the joints are mortise and tenon which were not as hard as I thought they would be, but the next go round should prove to have cleaner results.

That’s a great table with a nice finish

Nice work!

I made 3 of these a few years ago and love them…I visit the Stickley site all the time and try to figure out which piece I’ll make next. I did the Bow Arm Morris Char…that was a big challenge!

Nice story! Nice piece! Hope you asked your dad? LOL! You are on your way. Looks like a older craftsman table saw under the piece?

Good work.I really like your end table. It is one piece of furniture that makes your living room complete. The unique thing about choosing an end table, as opposed to other pieces of furniture, is the fact that it not only has to match the furniture you already have, but it also has to fit in the space you have.

Have your say...
