This is a Holly and Cherry bowl made from a Holly tree downed in the storms of 2004 in Florida. This piece of Holly darkened and developed some unique grain colors and patterns, probably as a result of being cut during the summer and not drying quickly. The Cherry came from my neighbor’s yard after a storm also. The finial is a more typical piece of Holly. The bowl measures 5 1/2 inches wide by 4 1/2 inches high and has a lacquer and wax finish.

The colors go together well. Nice proportion of height to width. Very nice turning. Congrads. Carl
