Made this banquette seat for my wife. Compliments our rectangle table, gives some extra seating and storage underneath. Made a plywood box, then added the bead board and maple boards to give it some character. The top is northern red oak left over from another project. Pocket holes in the base attached to the floor hold it in place. Had to scribe the top to fit existing trim around this half wall between kitchen and family room. Fun project and is already being used.

Looks very nice, I’d love to do something similar in my kitchen. However, that exposed piano hinge would drive my OCD crazy. ;) I like the white and oak combination.
