I found some amazing Bubinga at Soboba Hardwoods, my local Santa Barbara dealer. Had enough of the highly figured material for top, sides and drawer fronts. Added other Bubinga to complete the piece. Door/drawer pulls were taken from a FineWoodworking article by Michael Fortune. Soss hidden hinges were used for the doors.

p.s. Legs are padauk. Since completion in 2009 the color has deepened, but still as rich as ever.

Bubinga …definitely an all time favorite ! Looks like a piece of glass on the top. Great looking project : )

Well done! Great use of the material, well crafted, and I would like to actually see the figure. I have one piece of Bubinga with curl, and I turned it into a bowl. While I like the bowl, I think the figure is better shown in that top piece of your work.
