A close friend of mine loved the farmhouse style table that I posted a few weeks back. She wanted a set of bookcases in a similar style so I went to the drawing board. I picked up the wood, pine and fir, from the local big box and joined them using my Kreg pocket hole jig. The finish is Minwax Special Walnut stain and a few coats of Arm-R-Seal. It was my first time using Arm-R-Seal and I’ve gotta say it was pretty easy to use and looks great.

Very nice book cases. I agree with you, Arm-R-Seal is the only way to go.
Thanks for showing, and for your service to our country.

Nice work Brent! I’m sure she’ll always value them. Thanks for your service to our country AND for your current sacrifice…..living in Hawaii I mean….(I like the show “Hawaii 50”) I know it’s tough with the awesome scenery and beaches but someone has to live there!!! :)

Looking at your website, it seems you have numerous woodworking projects that haven’t been posted here. I hope that is corrected in the new year :-)

Time & Monte, it’s true – the weather is amazing here right now (about 75 during the day with a light breeze). Despite the ideal conditions year-round, I’m still missing the seasons especially during the holidays. I’m glad I chose Hawaii, but I think a few years is more than enough – can’t wait for my next assignment.

Thanks for all the really great comments, I’ll definitely be posting more this year!
