Poplar Cutting board

Here’s a really basic cutting board I made for my Mom. It’s made from poplar, and with a butcher block finish it looks great! I cut all of the pieces to 1 1/2’’ wide. Remember the width of you boards is going to be the thickness of your cutting board. I glued everything together with a good water resistant glue, and also clamped down boards on the top, just to make sure that the boards is flat. And I cut of the sharp corners and then used a round-over bit to give it a decorative edge. Mineral oil does a good job finishing these boards too.
